Welcome to Dumbville! Do you remember this mobile game? My boys used to get a kick out of all the ridiculously silly ways the beans could get hurt, so getting this card game made us a bit nostalgic. The goal of this game is simple try not to die. Roll the dice to find out how many actions you can perform on your turn and if you pull a you died card (like playing VR near a piranha tank), youll need to play the proper accident card to save your bean. When you lose 3 beans, youre out to watch the mayhem. Last person standing is the winner! Its a very simple premise and theres other cards to make the gameplay a bit more fun, like the Wheel of Misfortune (forcing one player to discard and re-draw 2 cards) or my favourite, Set Fire to Everything. I love that they included bean cards of some of the funnier ones from the app so we could pick 3 of our favourites to try and keep alive, like Lax, who ate a two-week-old unrefrigerated pie. Overall, we had a lot of laughs over this game and this is exactly the type of card game we like to play simple, quick, funny. About this game: It definitely has an interesting title Comprised of 54 cards, 15 animated Bean Death cards, 1 large die Requires 2-5 players Claimed it's for ages 12+ Review: After getting over the title and learning the history of the game, we found it... interesting. The card game comes with a great instruction guide with pictures and demonstrations making the rules easy to follow. The game flowed well and was easy to play. The 54 cards are your typical card quality of paper, so I can see them keeping their shape. The animated cards are neat where you can see two different images depending on how you angle the card. Reminded me of the stickers I used to collect when I was a kid! Fair warning, some of the death images can be a bit graphic. We played only with adults and discussed how we couldn't see kids 12+ playing this game. I did read up on the history of the game and how it originated as a campaign to ultimately keep people safe. However, this is no where in the booklet, so the card game comes across a bit disjointed. Also, when reading about the game, it repetitively states that this is an adult game, but the age typing is set for 12+. I do feel like this game should only be played by adults and that the age requirement should reflect how the game has been advertised for adults. I must confess I have an obsession with those cute but dummy beans. The instructions are quite simple to learn and the cards are made of a beatiful and sturdy material, which is a definitive plus. As many games, it can be played a little differently when there are kids present, than when it is just adults. The main difference is you can be as nice and passive as you want, but you can also be aggressive and sabotage the game just for the fun of it. We had a blast, and I absolutely recommend playing it with more than 2 people. It is so much more fun that way!
