Welcome to Dumbville! Do you remember this mobile game? My boys used to get a kick out of all the ridiculously silly ways the beans could get hurt, so getting this card game made us a bit nostalgic. The goal of this game is simple try not to die. Roll the dice to find out how many actions you can perform on your turn and if you pull a you died card (like playing VR near a piranha tank), youll need to play the proper accident card to save your bean. When you lose 3 beans, youre out to watch the mayhem. Last person standing is the winner! Its a very simple premise and theres other cards to make the gameplay a bit more fun, like the Wheel of Misfortune (forcing one player to discard and re-draw 2 cards) or my favourite, Set Fire to Everything. I love that they included bean cards of some of the funnier ones from the app so we could pick 3 of our favourites to try and keep alive, like Lax, who ate a two-week-old unrefrigerated pie. Overall, we had a lot of laughs over this game and this is exactly the type of card game we like to play simple, quick, funny. Itll be coming along on vacation where Ill have 3 pre-teen to teen kids to keep entertained for 3 weeks and this is perfect for that!
Date published: 2023-07-16

Rated 3 out of 5 by Plumie from Interesting... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dumb Ways to Die We love trying out new card games, especially ones that are compact and don't take up a lot of room, which makes them easy to travel with! I received the Dumb Ways to Die Card Game for free from @spinmaster and @thisisbutterly in exchange for my honest review. About this game: It definitely has an interesting title Comprised of 54 cards, 15 animated Bean Death cards, 1 large die Requires 2-5 players Claimed it's for ages 12+ Review: After getting over the title and learning the history of the game, we found it... interesting. The card game comes with a great instruction guide with pictures and demonstrations making the rules easy to follow. The game flowed well and was easy to play. The 54 cards are your typical card quality of paper, so I can see them keeping their shape. The animated cards are neat where you can see two different images depending on how you angle the card. Reminded me of the stickers I used to collect when I was a kid! Fair warning, some of the death images can be a bit graphic. We played only with adults and discussed how we couldn't see kids 12+ playing this game. I did read up on the history of the game and how it originated as a campaign to ultimately keep people safe. However, this is no where in the booklet, so the card game comes across a bit disjointed. Also, when reading about the game, it repetitively states that this is an adult game, but the age typing is set for 12+. I do feel like this game should only be played by adults and that the age requirement should reflect how the game has been advertised for adults. Overall, the consensus was that although the game was easy to play, the excitement to play it unfortunately goes away quickly.
Date published: 2023-07-16

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kaa279783 from Cant Stop Singing! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE the concept of this gamemy children used to watch the video and sing it all the time! The game itself is small and compact (easy to store). My only complaint is that the instructions are a little difficult to understandmy daughter (12) couldnt really follow the instructions. It was easiest to play the game as we read through the instructions. It would be helpful if there was a how to play video that you could go and watch. We will definitely take this game to the cottage and play it as a card game (versus using the dice).
Date published: 2023-07-16

Rated 5 out of 5 by MoryMeister4853 from A nice addition to my board game collection. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a great time at home during our last game night with this board game. After so many years of singing that catchy jingle, and after playing the video game for a while, I am happy to finally add this cool board game to my collection. I must confess I have an obsession with those cute but dummy beans. The instructions are quite simple to learn and the cards are made of a beatiful and sturdy material, which is a definitive plus. As many games, it can be played a little differently when there are kids present, than when it is just adults. The main difference is you can be as nice and passive as you want, but you can also be aggressive and sabotage the game just for the fun of it. We had a blast, and I absolutely recommend playing it with more than 2 people. It is so much more fun that way! As a final comment, I completely understand why it was made for +12 year-old kids, because although the artwork is more on the cute/funny side, it might be a bit too gory for younger kids.
Date published: 2023-07-14

Rated 5 out of 5 by ahmee775193 from Hilarious game based on hilarious videos! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Dumb Ways to Die Card Game is a lot of fun! We played it with both 2 & 3 people, and I can only imagine it would be even more fun with more players (more chaos ensues, lol). Love the interpretation of the game -- from the rock-paper-scissors take on how to save yourself from an accident, to the no-one-is-safe psycho attack (lol), the variety of ways to interact with other players & the cards is well thought out and very fun. The artwork is adorable (even with all the carnage, lol) and love the animated Bean Cards that show how you lost a life! Definitely not for young kids, so pay attention to the 12+ or you be the judge of if it's appropriate for your kids -- but hopefully even if you're not familiar with the videos, the front cover should give you an idea of what you're in for. :)
Date published: 2023-07-14

Rated 4 out of 5 by EmmaDennis from A little confusing but fun [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Dumb Ways to Die game to try for free in exchange for my honest review, and while it took us a bit to get in the groove (I initially found it sort of confusing) once we got in the groove we enjoyed it. I opened up Dumb Ways to Die for them to pay together at the table, and they had a great time. My daughters and nephew are teenagers and had a riot playing this game. There were lots of giggles in the different ways the beans could die. This kept them occupied for over an hour. It was great to find a game the older kids can play and have fun with without getting bored and wanting to find something else to do. I had lots of time to clean up the house and prepare dinner while they took turns trying to keep their beans alive. Some of the cards have outrageous and funny ways the beans can die and I feel like it teaches them how to be safer and not make mindless choices like hanging your head out the car window or stuffing yourself in a dryer haha.
Date published: 2023-07-14

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sweetcheeks256667 from such fun ways to die [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We absolutely had so much fun playing this game and the amazing creative structure of this game made us too good. Whatever you might think, it is NEVER a good idea to poke a grizzly bear with a stick. My last of 3 beans, Hapless, died that way, a very dumb death for sure! This game was actually a lot of fun. It seemed complicated at first after reading the directions, but once I watched a U-Tube video, it was actually easy to learn. However, there are plenty of activities and strategies you can consider to keep young minds and bodies active while minimizing screen time. Family game nights is a perfect way to keep your kids busy. Plan regular family game nights where everyone can gather to play board games, card games, or puzzles. This not only provides entertainment but also strengthens family bonds. There are so many options of board games in the market these days. Recently I received a new board game DUMB WAYS TO DIE try out in exchange of my honest opinion. Based on an innocent sounding transportation safety jingle that took the internet by storm in 2012 Dumb Ways to Die the games puts the Beans lives in your hands and in the hands of fate to see who the last Bean left standing alive will be. Dumb Ways to Die the brand that began life as an Australian public safety campaign from Metro Trains has now entered the board game space thanks to spinmaster In the game, each player starts with three lenticular Animated Bean Death Cards, and the last person to have one or more Beans alive is the winner. This game is really enjoyable. The instructions are very clear and very easy to follow and clear. To be honest, its better to play this game with more players. While it was still enjoyable when I played with my son the game would have been more fun with a few more players. The game is for 12+ and 2-5 players. Here's a detailed account of my person product test experience: Packaging and Presentation: The game arrived in a vibrant and eye-catching box, adorned with colorful illustrations reminiscent of the original video's characters. Strategy and Decision-Making: While the game seemed simple at first, it quickly became apparent that strategic decision-making was crucial. It created an exciting dynamic where players had to weigh the potential rewards against the likelihood of failure. Artwork and Design: The artwork and design of the cards were impressive. The illustrations were whimsical and carried the distinct visual style of the original video. The cards were made of sturdy material and featured a glossy finish, ensuring durability even with repeated use. Fun and Laughter: The game succeeded in delivering plenty of laughs and amusement.
