The base is hollow and doesn't provide enough stability for my heavy handed 4 year old. Once I showed her how to be more gentle the process became more fun. It is the perfect size for her to play with. The little comb and clips that come with it are perfect for styling Elsa&rsquo;s hair. The only thing that I did not like about this product is that her hair comes in a low ponytail that comes around into a big curl. The curl comes glued together with something that makes it hard as a rock. It took so much time and effort to get the hair unstuck so my granddaughter could even style or brush the hair. I understand that they want it to look good in the packaging but all that glue is unnecessary. First of all, like most little girls, she's Frozen obsessed so the fact that it's Elsa instantly won her over. I took away one star just because there is some sort of product in her hair that causes the bottom to be super stiff. I think it's in there to help hold Elsa's curls but it does hinder my daughter from being able to fully style her hair like she'd like to.
