Unfortunately, the mechanism to lift the garbage bin as well as the one to lift and lower the back of the truck were both broken on opening. I saw quite a few other reviews saying the same thing. I was able to open the back of the truck to access the mechanism, and saw a cheap circuit board with very thin wires controlling the whole thing. Luckily, with some patience and lots of electrical tape, I was able to reconnect the broken wires and get things working. HOWEVER, the product is poorly made. The back part does not open properly and the latch comes undone easily. The arm of the garbage disposal falls off quickly and the motor catches very easily. The yellow bin does not properly align with the top section either.
