It took about 30mins to get al finished and it looked amazing. This set contains 102 pieces in a few bags. As each step in the instructions involves adding a few designated pieces to the in-process base vehicle, we separated the pieces by color, shape, and size to make finding them easier. Many of the parts are similar to those found in other construction sets but there are some that are unique to this car, allowing the finished product to have its own distinct look and shape. Also, where other sets often have stickers that get applied to individual pieces before assembly, the unique colors and patterns that give Muscle Bound its look are actually on the pieces. The roof and hood have a camouflage design while the doors have a sharp-toothed pattern that really makes the vehicle stand out. And because they are not stickers, there is no worry about the design being crooked due to shaky hands. The instructions include detailed images for each step that show which pieces go where using arrows and colored dots. My 8-year-old son was able to complete the 45 steps in approximately 45 minutes with minimal hiccups requiring paternal input. All I did was find the pieces needed; he did the rest. When that last piece clicked into place, I could see the feeling of accomplishment on my son&rsquo;s face. He had built the entire vehicle basically by himself. It looks like a cross between a Dodge Charger and a military vehicle. He was a little disappointed in the color as the box made it look metallic green but it is actually more dark olive. However, he really liked the body detailing. The car is roughly 4.5 inches long and 2 inches wide, making it larger than a classic Hot Wheels vehicle. At that size, he cannot use it with his track. But that is where the box comes in. There are indentations on the top that align with the toy&rsquo;s tires, making a suitable display stand that prevents the car from rolling off. Also, you can fold one set of end flaps down and lock them in place to make a sort of inclined tunnel down which to send the car. Finally, the roof comes off to put the included figure inside to drive or to take him out of the car for stunts. Like being attached to the roof. If you are so inclined, you can mix and match sets to create hybrid vehicles of your design. There is an app that links to an online community to see how other people have done so. My 8 year old needed a little guidance to put it together the pieces click in place a little harder then some other brands of blocks, but these stay in place as he is playing hard with the finished product car, unlike other brands that lose pieces. He quickly became frustrated with the directions. I think maybe the suggested age should be 7+. I had him take a break and try again, it was a no go. I don't have a picture of the completed car as he won't go near it. My 5 yr old followed the directions alright, but he did have trouble fitting some pieces together. And he is an avid builder with building blocks. The directions were color coded to show where the pieces would go, I found that nice and they were easy to follow. The driver figure that it came with had full motion of its limbs, and the head can pop off. The helmet &amp; head are one piece, not separate. I did find it odd that no extra pieces came with the build, so if you lose a piece, (which a lot of children do) then the build may not work. My kids did have fun with them, and the wheels roll very well. They raced them for over an hour. He is at the age (6) where he is obsessed with toy cars, so this set brought his two favorite things, cars and building, together! He opened the package and immediately started building. The instructions were clear and very easy to follow, he was able to construct the car from start to finish in less than an hour, and without any help (other than supervision) from me. He did say that the pieces had to be in exactly the right position/angle to get them to snap in, so that might be frustrating for some builders. The car looked great when it was finished, really like a race car, and it rolled across the floor smoothly. It was an added bonus to get the figure with the car so that he could take the roof piece on and off to move him in and out of the car.
