The 5 year old would have an easier time if the controller could be used left and/or right handed. Quite sturdy, but the plastic front bumper (small blue strip) was only held with a small plastic bit at each end stuck in a small hole. These snapped off when he tried to drive the Bronco down stairs (they are now off limits). Easy repair with Super Glue. The Bronco was worth every penny. It has survived a number of crashes into trees, so it can take some abuse. Drove well on grass, concrete, pavement, and mulch.
